About Bernie Cox

To say this was a “normal route” for pursuing a dream as a singer/songwriter for this artist, well . . . read on.

Bernie first realized his musical talent at 12 years old, when he was invited to play in a piano recital at the University of Washington in Seattle. At 13 years old, he picked up his first guitar and spent his awakening hours in front of a full length mirror pretending to be Paul McCartney. Guitar strapped just right over his shoulder, Levi's worn through the knees and hair combed just right. So began the “childhood dream”!

Life progressed to Southern California where he fined tuned himself as an accomplished musician.. He was greatly influenced by The Beatles, Eagles, Richard Marx and Johnny Cash. His music reflects California flavoring with a “twang” of country. For 12 years he played local clubs and bars until finally forming his own band. There, he was given the freedom to experiment with song writing.
His day job as a self employed general contractor finally proved to be too much, and his guitar and music were put to rest temporarily. That is until a severe and traumatic injury in August 2001 causing him to shut down the construction company. For nearly 9 months, he was unable to work. The only thing to bring any form of comfortf, was playing his guitar to protect his sanity. So began a serious journey and maturity in his song writing. Time proved to be the best medicine. Family and friends would come by to visit, and Bernie would play songs he had written asking for feedback. The response was unanimous. It was time to go to Nashville!

Bernie now lives in Nashville and works at the world famous Wildhorse Saloon while pursuing his dream as a singer/songwriter. This first CD is a reproduction of this mans life over the past few years, converted to music. The songs are spoken from the heart and will cause you to tap your foot . . . and at times shed a tear.
