| About Albert Bernicky | Country singer/songwriter Albert Bernicky, from Ottawa, Ontario has always enjoyed country music for as long as he can remember, having grown up listening to country legends such as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Conway Twitty and Hank Williams. At the age of eleven, Albert received his first guitar and went on to write his first song at the age of twelve. It was a French song dedicated to his mother, called, "Oui Mamma". On a crisp February evening in 2010, Albert met a warm and loving lady, Virginia, and married her in September 2011. She has been Albert’s muse and inspiration to write music and record his first hit single, “We’re Gonna Make It”. Albert surprised and delighted their wedding guests when he sang his single to his new bride on their wedding day. “We’re Gonna Make It” is registered in the U.S. and within two weeks it charted top 20 Country New Release according to Weekly Radio and Musicregistry.com. It reached number one on KILT FM 100.3 in Houston Texas, Outlaw Country and Highway Country Live 365 internet radio. It was a clear summer evening when Albert and his In-laws were relaxing by the pool and his sister-in-law said to her husband, “We’re getting older, will you still remember me?” His brother-in-law replied, “I would just fall in love with you all over again”, hence the name of his second single, "Fall In Love With You (All Over Again)". Recently, Albert wrote and recorded a song dedicated to the Canadian veterans and troops called, "Canadian Soldier". This song has great meaning to him as two of his uncles served in the Second World War and his step-father served in the Korean War. On October 13, 2012, Albert organized a fundraising concert called “Let’s Give Thanks”, held at Fourth Avenue Baptist Church, Ottawa, to honour veterans and troops in which he sang his Canadian Soldier song. All proceeds of that concert were donated to the National Poppy Fund. He had also entered the song in the Nashville 2012 song and lyrics contest winning the Director's Award. This award is given during a special preliminary judging of Deserving Song and Lyrics. On November 11, 2012, Rogers TV (Cable 22) used his song in a Remembrance Day program to honour the veterans and troops. Albert’s wife, Virginia, is also a music lover and member of an Ottawa community gospel choir, Big Soul Project (BSP). Albert wrote a song in April 2011 called, "That Someone" and Virginia sang it at BSP’s 2011 Christmas concert at Dominion-Chalmers Church in Ottawa, Ontario. On Saturday May 2nd, 2015 Albert released his first Country/Christian album which includes a new version of "We're Gonna Make It" and "Fall in Love with You (All Over Again) a duet with his beautiful wife Virginia called, "That's What I'd Say" and his testimonial song, "I Bow My Head". His unique voice and passion for music will surely touch the hearts of people around the world. |
