| About george longard productions | I was raised on country music in Nova Scotia ,Canada.Before the advent of television, in the small village of Bayside where I grew up , each evening almost every living room would come alive with the sweet sounds of fiddle and guitar music.Our family Mom & Dad, my sisters and myself performed regularly at the local Community Halls. Early into my singing career I was invited to entertain on one of the radio stations in Halifax Nova Scotia, about twenty miles from Bayside. From there I went on to making appearances with C.B.C. Television on the Don Messer Show, a very popular Sunday night Variety Show that featured Don and his unique style of Down East fiddle playing . This show drew a television audience of around ten million people. Throughout my life I have been singing and playing guitar on stage and in clubs and enjoying every moment. Over 100 of my many recordings features a duo of myself and my good buddy the legendary Tex Emery ,on steel guitar. Tex and I have laughed our way through many a recording session bouncing off each others one liners. Each year I look forward to performing at the annual Hank Snow Tribute, a Country Music Extravaganza ,held here in Nova Scotia, Hank’s birthplace. It is truly a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to perform with great Nashville artists such as Kayton Roberts and Roger Carroll ,Hank’s own Rainbow Ranch Boys. Having my own sound studio here in Halifax gives me the opportunity to promote local country talent that would not otherwise be heard. Testimony by the Legendary Tex Emery. October 25th, 2008 George and I met in Halifax at a steel guitar jam in 2004. We began to play and record Hank Snow songs as George sings and plays guitar like Hank Snow did. As a matter of fact George’s singing and playing continue to carry on Hank Snow’s legacy. I had the great pleasure to play steel for George on several tributes to Hank Snow shows in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Geraldine and George are like my family. I love and respect and always look forward to seeing them. They treat me like royalty and a brother. George has a unique sense of humor. We’ve spent hours and hours in his recording studio and enjoyed every minute. I am so much richer by having met George and Geraldine. I consider George Longard one of my very best friends in the world.I have been associated with him for the past seven years and I have come to know both him and his wife Geraldine up close and personally. They are two of the finest people you could ever meet. George has a great talent, both in singing and playing the guitar. It has been an extreme pleasure to work with George in the music business and in my honest opinion, he is tops both professionally and personally in every way. Hank Snow’s guitar playing will never leave us as long as George Longard is alive and well.
