About Lowell Van Carroll and Insufficient Funds

Lowell Van Carroll and insufficient Funds are three small town boys with an extremely diverse pallet of musical styles and genres. From blues to folk, and from country to rock, this band has encompassed an array of influences such as Tom Waits, Townes Van Zandt, Howlin’ Wolf, Grand Funk Railroad, Ten Years After, and Fred Eaglesmith and have created their own unique, and distinct sound.
This band has stuck to the roots of blues and rock and Roll, but add a certain element of raw energy and aggression which somewhat modernizes their sound. Their sets are interesting and are composed of multiple styles as they shift from moody blues, to an acoustic set, to a rock and roll set.
The idea behind Insufficient Funds was to create a band that is pleasing for everyone, regardless of the genre they prefer. Lowell Van Carroll has a diverse background in music and has played with blue grass artists, folk and blues artists, and even a heavy metal band or two. Dallas and Brett have similar backgrounds and have played with a variety of different bands in the past. Whether you like heavy metal, blues, rock, folk, or country… they can do it all! This band will explore nearly every musical style you can think of! To truly appreciate this band, you must see them live… if you can’t make a show, pick up their new EP, which was released on July 12th at the Palomino!
