Vitani is a deeply righteous and solid individual, and his personality and charisma just bleeds out of his music. Since a very young age, it always has, and it always will. Vitani's music usually always has some kind of theme, which is verbally broken down to real personal experiences and he's always knee-deep in crime references and analogies. Xavier Murray, better known by his stage name "Vitani" is an American rapper and lyricist who began his career as a young teenager in the mean streets of Oakland, California. This lyrical protege started making his name known at only thirteen years old by writing lyrics for MC Hammer. He took his inspiration from the local artists that surrounded him: MC Hammer, Spice 1, Too Short, Pierre James "The Beat Fixer", Dru-Down, The Delinquents, Jet Black, Tupac Shakur, Digital Underground, Chaz Hayz & so many more.. As he grew up in the inner city of Oakland, he faced phenomenal obstacles which led him to life changing choices. Vitani's heroin addicted father was another strong influence in his youth which unfortunately lead him to the street life. Not by chance, but by fate, he returned home a rehabilitated man after a 10 year incarceration. Vitani never lost his determination to return to the music. With a better understanding of how to conquer life's challenges, he is determined to leave the street life behind and tell his story through his powerful lyrics. Now with a son of his own, he strives to teach life's lessons and inspire through his hip hop career. Vitani The Great is the founder of Armored Truck Musick to regionally distribute his music. His goal to work with multiple top notch solid hip hop /rap talent in the Bay Area as a movement he has dubbed "The Mob Umbrella." |
