About G-Rec's Entertainment

With some of the most entrancing beats and arresting hooks in modern hip hop, Jay Godz is the rapper you didn't see coming. The worldwide release of his debut album, "Hard White," along with the launch of his record label, G Recs Entertainment, promises to make him one artist you won't want to miss.
The music of Jay Godz dares it's listeners to classify it. The raw, 'from-the-hip' lyrical styling fuses effortlessly with the clever dynamics of the beat, working together in each song to capsulize a particular emotion, rather than a genre. The differing temperments of the tracks mirror the variance of human mood, offering fleeting glimpses into the soul of the man behind the microphone.
As a child, Jay was captivated by the timeless sonnets of William Shakespeare. Such a love of rhythm and verse drew him to hip hop at the tender age of nine. "It was just like the poetry that I loved, but it also made me dance" Jay recalls. "The day I learned what rap was, I went home and started making beats on pots and pans."
Jay Godz has come a long way from the days of creating music on household objects, having mastered all of the equipment necessary to hold complete control over every aspect of his sound. "I wouldn't have it any other way," Jay says. "It's 100% original, and to me, that's what music should be."
Jay's musical dogma has laid the foundation for his new label, G Recs Entertainment. "We're open to all types of musicians," Jay says. "But we only put out beautiful music. Nothing less."
Having wasted no time in carving out a name for himself, the past year alone has found Jay sharing the stage with the likes of Ray J, Saigon, Deemi, Nina B, and DJ Camillo. Armed with insatiable ambition and limitless originality, Jay Godz seeks to take the hip hop world by storm. "I'll never be locked down to just one style or genre," Jay promises. "If it doesn't sound like hip hop to somebody, that's fine-- they can call it what they want. At the end of the day, it's just Jay Godz."
