| About Taktikal | Baptism by fire, a "Kaged Animal" is the only way to describe the artist Taktikal's attempt to rise in the NYC hip hop scene. Born in the Bronx and raised on the other side of the Hudson River, Taktikal plans to come back to hip hop’s birth place a conqueror. His music shows personal struggles and hardships overcame throughout his years that fellow listeners can relate to. The name itself implies the versatility in store for the audience. With the darkness and lyrical skills of Eminem, the breathing control of Big Pun and Cuban Link, and the bravado of Jay Z and his older brother Mello, Taktikal brings in a breath of fresh air without forgetting his influences. Taktikal stays true to the true essence of Hip Hop presenting art, creativity & Lyricism. With his father being a rapper during his teen years known as The Grand Wizard Kid C, music would become apart of Taktikals life down the road. Watching his older brother pursue his career, Taktikal stepped away from that shadow and began to solidify his own stance as he took advantage of his skill when he started battling other local rappers in School during gym time and lunch to get his name ranked higher in High School. First appearing on a former group’s mixtape “It’s A Long Story”, and polishing his combat skills in neighboring blocks and lunch tables, he has garnered buzz within his home base of Union City NJ. With over 20 performances, 8 mixtape appearances, 5 known radio interviews, a failed independent record deal & the respect from his peers, Taktikal looks to further his career as a solo artist he continues to gain respect from other New jersey/New York artists at local showcases. Respecting the change in todays music Taktikal looks to show that the underdogs can still become a success. Hip Hop is still alive. |
