| About Trusoul | Born a winner; Patrick George Brown is a competitive confident vocalist, songwriter and performer who began singing at an early age; he grew a fascination for the art of singing, that made him desperate to master his talent, which he eventually did at church. He went there for a haven to his loneliness, hardship, anger and resentment that he faced and struggled with. He later participated in his school and church choirs which won many competitions, including; YFC, JCDC and Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir Competition. Shortly after, he began directing choirs at the National Youth Service and Ebony Park Vocational Training Institute, which also resulted in them winning. He desired to appeal to a wider spectrum of people through his music, and chose the genre Reggae Soul which is mixed with a gospel base (emotional reflective sound). As well as, writing songs he calls ‘reality’ which are written from the experiences of others and his experiences how he was raised, how he views life and how he was socialized. Remembering what his mentor, Mr. Neil from St. Catherine High School told him, “That he was going to be great at music” and the difficult upbringing he had made him adamant to continue his winning streak. The talented vocalist, decided to enter his first solo competition, the ‘Tastee Talent Trail’ which garner him much popularity, when he entered in 2011. He knew he would win, after winning so many competitions over the years he was seasoned with a steadfast confidence and never entertained beliefs of doubt…“I never entered any competition with doubts, I always enter with confidence, believing I will win. I told myself I am going to win and no one could beat me”. The singer admires artistes Taurrus Riley, Etana, India Airie, R. Kelly and music Icon Bob Marley for their vocal abilities, lyrical contents and music styles. He someday hopes to fall in this mix with the ‘music greats’. He has began this journey by commencing his musical career; collaborating with Ikons Management and Soulful Entertainment, hoping to elevate further in music and connect with his audience. Patrick Brown is slowly transitioning into the artiste ‘Trusoul’ which represents the sincerity of his feelings when he sings. His ultimate goal is to keep on winning… |
