About Starcase Recording Company, Ltd.

"Some Thangs Are STRANGE....
And Then, Some Thangs ARE---N-B!!"

And that is probably what describes Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra/OSMOSIS, a dual one-man studio project of Lawrence Wise.

The original project, Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra, is a hyper-psychedelic/futuristic-progressive thang that originated around May 1981. Some 8 years later in 1989, came the spin-off OSMOSIS: a wilder, devil-may-care, toss-it-all-to-the-wind, free-form Funk-n-Roll sound.

Add to it all a personal label imprint, STARCASE RECORDING COMPANY, Ltd., and publishing name for all of Lawrence Wise's music, COSMIC FUNK MUSIC, Ltd.

And, primarily, it's ALL Lawrence Wise: All the Instruments and Vocals, as well as the songwriting, recording, producing and album packaging/artwork. A pure DIY-maniac from the "cassette tape home-recording era" of the 1980s, and proud of it.

Beginning in early-2006, Lawrence Wise and a friend he met over the internet on MySpace.com, Maurice Richmond (a.k.a. The FUNKASAURUS), combined their back-catalog outputs and started to collaborate together, creating the cyber-band THE DAILY DOSE Of FUNK, which migrated from the former MySpace.com to SOUNDCLICK.com, SOUNDCLOUD.com, and FACEBOOK.com.

For nearly 8 years, Lawrence Wise was a part of the original DAILY DOSE OF FUNK as OSMOSIS. Then, in early 2014, OSMOSIS and a couple other members of the collective (MAXIMUM/RAPPADELIC and MINROO ARTS) left to become a part of A KINTERTAINMENT Thang (founded by RAPPADELIC Brothers Andre and James Kimble). While each member has his own autonomy (unlike in the DDoF-era), they collaborate with one-another, and collectively as a cyber-band called WoOF GanG. Lawrence also acquired a Bass Guitar and Lead Guitar around 2010, changing the overall musical sound of his OSMOSIS project to a more rough, raw and sparse guitar-and-bass sound funk-n-roll, while still keeping the experimental/psychedelic/Space Funk Synthesizer sound of Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra.

After 30+Years of Home Recording, Lawrence Wise is recording all of his recent/newest material in digital, while still converting the better part of 27 Years of back catalog from Stereo Cassette Masters to Digital Form. And, also thanks to Internet Radio, Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra and OSMOSIS songs are now receiving airplay, and is now in online stores like iTunes. Long time coming.

Hey, it Ain't Nothin' But The Funk, ya'll---
And, It's Good For Ya.
Thank You, and N-Joy.
