About Jose Cornier

About me:

José Cornier, born of Puerto Rican and French decent is no stranger to the age old adage that it takes a whole lot of faith to move mountains. This Chicago/ Humboldt Park native picked up his first guitar at the age of 8 and is now able to play any guitar placed in front of him. His musical genius does not stop there he can also play the piano, synthesizers, percussion instruments, conga, bongos, timbales and any other instrument that comes with it.

Before settling down back in Chicago José Cornier served in the Navy, Marines and the United States Coast Guard. After service José Cornier became a disabled veteran during the first Persian Gulf War, José then returned to his guitar and his debut album Esperanza.

José Cornier is a man with a vision. His vision includes sharing his love through music. He was honored as "Someone You Should Know" by Harry Porterfield in Chicago. In 2008 José performed for Chef Rick Bayless and composed a song called "One Plate at a Time". José has performance for Barack Obama fund raiser for the President of the United States.

José’s music has gone top ten in 2009 in the Latin Charts for Indie Artist. Has been artist of the week in Italy, Brazil, and Melbourne, Australia just to name a few. In 2011 the Cd Esperanza is being heard in iHeartradio and at O’Hare and Midway airport terminals in Chicago.

In 2012 José music Prophet from the Cd Esperanza was featured in VH1 behind the music for recording artist Pitbull. José has played at many major events throughout the Chicago land area and across the country and overseas. José has attended the Latin Grammies and the Latin Billboard Awards in San Juan, Puerto Rico 2010. His passion extends far beyond the instruments he plays and it comes out in his music.

Jose Cornier is well known as the "Santana" of Chicago! Playing the Paul Reed Smith guitars identical as Carlos Santana with "The Sizzling Sounds of Santana". Jose Cornier Has been invited to perform with the lead vocalist of Santana Andy Vargas at the Latino Fashion Week Show in Chicago for 2012. Jose was recognized by local television station CBS 2 Chicago as one of the best live Latin music in Chicago.

Now, with the release of the 2nd CD called "En Mi Camino" Jose Cornier ventures into Spanish guitar style rhythms. Including Latin Jazz rhythmic style music coupled with grace and style that will deliver a new powerful Latin sounds for 2014. Jose performs regularly at D'Noche in Chicago and the CD 'En Mi Camino" is now available in Amazon and iTunes.
