About Jennifer Taylor

Somewhere between the back blocks of Dural and the coal mines of Helensburgh Jennifer Taylor's latest single release Yipidee came to be!

Yipidee, written by Jennifer and her husband Artie Taylor, is a duet featuring award winning vocalist Daniel Thompson. It tells the story of a gamblers relationship, passionate love and loss and in the same way that Paul Kelly's "To Her Door" leaves you yearning for a happy resolve, this quirky song will leave you wanting a happy end to the story.

The B side of the single Fool For Love also co-written with partner Artie Taylor relates a movie like scene of a girl in a troubled relationship who builds the courage to leave.

Yipidee and Fool For Love are an introduction to Jennifer Taylor's much anticipated, soon to be released album Good Girl.
Good Girl is an album steeped in the highest traditions of country music story telling and musicianship. It features 10 original and well crafted songs as well as some of the australian live music scenes most respected musicians, including Peter Clarke (drums), Artie Taylor (upright double bass and electric bass), Stuie French (baritone, acoustic and electric guitars, pedal steel guitar), Michael Hawke (acoustic guitar), Eric Rasmussen and Jo Elms (backing vocals) and Big Daddy Roy Payne (acoustic and electric guitars).

Produced by Stuie French and Artie Taylor, Good Girl's original and fresh songwriting, clever and quirky arrangements and it's lineage of musicians provides a contemporary vision of country music and a voice in modern society from a woman's perspective.

Jennifer Taylor began her career as Jennifer Twohill and was once described as 'The girl with the bed room voice'. Her career spans more than a decade with 2 previous album releases, 'I don't Want To Sleep Alone' and 'Caught In A Rush'. Once a finalist in Tamworth Starmaker competition, Jennifer began her career performing with her father Paddy Twohill's Elvis tribute show. She also performed more contemporary music, such as songs from her favourite artists, Jewel and Sheryl Crow, who are both strong influences on her craft. Later Jennifer toured as part of the 'Young Stars Of Country' show and also spent several years in music theatre performing in the 'Flower Pot Gang' and ' Baby Cino'.
With a strong social awareness Jennifer performed at both the Bali Bombing memorial concert and Tsunami appeal at the Hills Centre.
Over the past 2 years she has dedicated her time to writing and recording and is now gearing up to tour. Jennifer's performances are intimate and presented with style, a hint of the 'Aussie larrakin' and an infectious laugh, honest and beautiful.

Yipidee and Fool For Love are sure to become favourites with their infectious and upbeat style and there's plenty more to come with the album Good Girl ready and set for release in the coming months.
