| About RESTRICTED | Greg Perry is the sole member of RESTRICTED. The name 'The Restricted' was the name of the first band that he joined/formed when at school during the eighties with some close freinds. They established themselves within the trendy Brighton area (after their school years) by perfoming countless gigs at various venues and adopted a strong following wherever they played. One of the venues being 'The Richmond' now known as 'The Pressure Point' where they played regularly infront of a packed house on most occassions - once supporting the band 'It Bites', who were at that time currently touring the country and backed by Virgin Records. The Zap, Paradox, Old Vic and even the Dome were other venues amongst hundreds. 'The Restricted' changes their name to 'Stagefright' and then a few years after to 'The Wish' eventually calling it a day in 1990. During the later years, they performed at various London venues and Universities up and down the country and were well respected by the masses that loyally followed. The final gig was back in Brighton at the 'Old Vic'. It was a special atmosphere within the hall and alot of mixed feelings and emotions. It was agreat gig and will be remembered by the band members, Greg Perry, Simon Birch, John McArthur and Matt Carn. Nowadays, Greg has continued to write songs and has set up a small studio within his home to record, mix and master his own tracks. Here on Songcast Music is the latest album completed by Greg named 'born in a storm'. The songs featured on the album are based on personal issues and something he hopes others can relate to. Greg has struggled to find a band name that he feels is suitable for where he is now, but through all of the different ideas that have come and gone over these last few years (such as Gate13, Sound-tec and Dogstar)has decided on 'RESTRICTED' which has a sentimental value along with a true value where writing songs has become a part of life but on a tight budget. Now in his late 30's he hopes to capture someones attention for his song writing ability and be given a chance to write for others and establish himself as an accommplished song writer. |
