| About Thomas Almqvist | I started to play guitar when I was 10 y.o. My first influences was The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel among many others. Later I became more interested in English and Irish folkmusic. When I heard guitarists like Michael Hedges and Pierre Bensusan I started to explore new worlds in acoustic guitar music. My luthier Michael Sandén built me a 16 string harpguitar (you can hear it in "Michaels butterfly") and that was a new opening for me. I have worked as a producer for many artists here in Scandinavia. I have also written theatre and film music, all from acoustic guitar to symphonic music. Now I..m working with a new project called "World guitar". I..m planning a release of a new sologuitar Cd next year. |
