| About Gemstone Official Records | 5 Star Generalz has the kind of music that you listen to when you are freeing your mind trying to escape everyday reality. Some people smoke weed, others drink, and the music of 5 Star Generalz is similarly intoxicating. Although they have just recently released their debut mixtape, the chemistry of their sound gives you the impression that they have been doing this together for years. The 5Star Generalz consist of Base'Rox, King Kosh & Ruckafella. Even though they have been knowing each other since middle school, this dynamic trio just recently formed a group summer 2008. This whole 5 Star movement began when BaSe'Rox and Ruckole flew out to Philly to visit King Kosh. Kosh was living in Philly for about four years and was desperately trying to get his "Town Bound" family members to pay him a visit on the East Coast. It wasn't until Mr.Kosh decided to throw a "Going back to Cali" Bash, out in Philly, and his homies finally visited. The night that BaSe'Rox and Ruckole touch down the vibe was instanly on. Straight to the lab they went. Mr. Kosh had a bottle of sky Vodka, Ruckole pulled the make shift swishers that he had pre-rolled, filled-up with purple from Oakland. The first track they recorded was "Fever for a Bunny", then it was the infamous, "Slap Nasty". (which is now featured on The California Gold Rush Mixtape In stores now at Rasputins, Amoeba Music and check for it online.) When King Kosh returned to Oakland, the three agreed to formed a group. And there you have it...they are the self Proclaimed 5Star Generals! To set apart from "the norm". They have Business ventures, film, jewelry designs, youth development, artist development etc... Not just rappers they are Craftsmen..5Star Geez! |
