About The Bard R. Campbell

The Bard R. Campbell, a poet more like The Bard R. Burns rather than William The Great, left the towers of higher learning, late in the latter days of sixty-six, to view the true blue blazes of Hades, and bathe in the slime of the river Styx...To behold them in all their splendor, he used the opiates of vine and weed, to embrace them in all their glory, he fed on the hungers of naked need...He had nowhere else to go but down, so down and down and down and down he went, until he reached the bottom, where there was nothing to circumvent...And there he stayed, for days and days, and months and months, and years and years, with ev'rything else, far above him, like clouds in the stratosphere...During this time, The Bard R. Campbell wrote many poems and songs and one book. Some titles include A LIGHTNING BUG AMONG GADFLIES, THE LOVERS OF MAYHEM, THE SWEETNESS OF SUICIDE, A COCKROACH IN YOUR BEANS, WHO RAPED JEFFREY KALICH, LET'S LET ALL THE LIES GO, A BUSHWHACKER'S RHAPSODY, A STONED WOMAN'S LOVE, and A JUNKIE'S BOBBIE MAGEE.......... But, then, The Bard R. Campbell, found something, within the nothingness of all else, something as simple, as the love, for some one other than himself...He ascended from the lower regions, in the early spring of seventy-eight, for sometimes it takes more than a decade, for a rat to shed the skin of a snake...He had nowhere else to go, but up, so up and up, and up and up, and up and up he came, although it was just a little ways, but it was far above where he had been, in his insolent and self-indulgent days...During this time, The Bard R. Campbell wrote many poems and songs and one book. Some titles include LOVE ALWAYS TIME, LOVE'S PROMISE LAND, BEDSPRINGS CAN REALLY SING, GOIN' ROCK AN' ROLLIN', FROM WHENCE FLOWERS COME, CALEDONIA CASTLES, NO SIR MISTER UNDERTAKER, SWEET AND COMPLETE ECSTASY, HELGA T'IS FROM HEAVEN, LOVE IS AN EV'RY DAY THING, and YOU CAN COUNT ON ME.......... Yes, The Bard R. Campbell, he ascended from the lower regions, like a newborn in the arms of his wife...He had found something in the nothingness, 'though it took more than half of his life...But, simple love is not sacred love, is what the future would indicate, for, as God knows, and others do, too, often it takes as long as forever, for a rat to shed the skin of a snake...Since that time, The Bard R. Campbell has written many poems and songs and three books. Some titles include ANOTHER TIME OF NURS'RY RHYMES, FROM WHENCE NURS'RY RHYMES COME, OBAMA THE NEW DALAI LAMA, JESUS WAS A PERFECT MAN, THE SEVEN STAGES OF MAN, PRINCESSES BELLES AND COCKLESHELLS, OF SLEEPING DOGS AND EZRA POUNDS, ANOTHER PROVEN FORNICATOR, and THAT OLE DOGLOVIN' DOGWOMAN OF NEWSPAPER FAME.......... Campbell lives with his second wife whom he met once upon a time when he got very lucky in Kentucky, and then became blessed each day, as she, Audrey, let him swagger like Mercutio, and feel like Romeo, deep within the inner sanctum of her boudoir, and now, in their paradise of his and hers, she, Audrey, lets him stagger, and stumble around, like ole Don Quixote de la Mancha, using words, as daggers, among the windmills of his allusions, illusions, and delusions of grandeur. This love, the love of God, and the love of writing make The Bard R. Campbell one of the happiest of men. Communication with The Bard R. Campbell is welcome via campbell.robe@gmail.com.
