About Particle Effect

Particle Effect is a Progressive Rock/Metal band from the greater Tampa Bay Area since 2008. Members are Christian Rivas - basses 6 and 12 strings, synthesizers, chapman stick, vocals, Bill Parsons - Drums, electronic percussion, and backing vocals, and Marko Bojkovic - lead and rhythm guitars 7 and 6 strings. Christian Rivas and Bill Parsons met through myspace in August of 2008 when Rivas put out an angry add aimed at drummers who would not answer back. That is when Parsons replied. They spoke over the phone and realized they have much in common when it came to progressive rock. Javier Leon joined on guitars early in 2009 but departed 2011. Later, Frank Werner of Andrew W.K. joined in 2011, but departed a couple of months later. For the next three years Particle Effect redefined their sound playing out as a guitarless duo and introducing a more electronic aspect to the mix. Early in 2015, PE added guitar player, Marko Bojkovic. His versatile playing and shredding style leads add a more metal aspect to the mix. Many, who come to see Particle Effect, tend to be quite surprised that such a massive sound can come from only three people.

Our influences include: Tool, Rush, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Pin Back, Nine Inch Nails, Peter Gabriel, Maps & Atlases, Joy Division, The Mars Volta, This Town Needs Guns, Pink Floyd, Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, Savatage....ect.
