About MGP Music Intl.

Shannon Lyon was born April 29th, 1969 in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada. He started writing songs at the age of 17. Lyon's first band was Strange Days (1989-1993). Strange Days went on to release three cassettes and one CD. The young band created a huge buzz in the Canadian music scene, crossing Canada coast to coast with their highly charged brand of rock and roll!

Lyon then released his highly acclaimed mostly acoustic debut solo CD 'Buffalo White' in 1994 on the Canadian MGP Music Intl. label. This recording is still recognized as a groundbreaking moment for Lyon, showcasing the unique heartfelt songs and true performance style of this emerging singer-songwriter. This was followed by the highly charged rock/pop album Mods Rule, recorded in 1996 with the Pop Explosion. The final MGP Music Intl. label release was the first major break-through for the artist, with several songs from his alt-country influenced record 'Tales of a Yellow Heart' hitting the charts on Canadian radio in 1997. This recognition was supported by several cross-Canada and European tours, appearances in New York which eventually led to a major label signing, and subsequent critical acclaim and success throughout North America, Europe, the UK and Australia.

Lyon has since released 10 other studio albums, signed major record deals, toured extensively around the globe, and has shared the the stage with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Blue Rodeo, Ray Lamontagne and Richard Buckner to name just a few.

Lyon released his new Cd 'This Love This Love' on Dutch label Inbetweens in 2010. This new album was written and recorded in Berlin, where he resided from 2008 to 2010. Lyon has recently returned home to Canada, and has a new album in the works, as well as performing some special concerts across the country for his loyal long-time fans.
