About David Bateson (batesongs)

David was the principal of a residential school for children and young people with physical, intellectual, communication and medical difficulties. To work with them was a privilege and a joy; often uplifting and sometimes distressing. He has always worked with children facing challenges, starting with those who have emotional and behavioural disorders. He has worked round the country and has enjoyed building teams that have received many outstanding accolades. David received the OBE from the Queen in 2011.

David's wife worked in a similar school and he has two sons, one a musician and the other working in information technology.

David has written songs of a reflective nature for many years and these albums represent a retrospective sample. He was thrilled that friends and artists contributed so freely to the projects. These songs are optimistic by nature and experience. Owners of these albums live in the UK, Canada, India, Singapore, China, Romania, France, Italy and Germany. He hopes new listeners may enjoy them as much.

Since he last found time to record, David has written many more songs and hopes to return to the studio in the near future.
