About Joanna

Joanna's love of the piano began at the age of 4 years when she taught herself to play after listening to music on the radio.
She felt that the whole world was in the piano and within her grasp.
Through the ups and downs of life, the piano has always been a source of comfort and inspiration.
The music on these albums are her own arrangements of popular melodies. They were recorded spontaneously and from memory on a very old Broadwood Grand Piano.
The cover illustration for Joanna's PURE PIANO NOEL album is from her own art work "Bethlehem"

JUNE 2011
RELEASE of Joanna's 'PIANO TRIBUTE TO AYN RAND'

Here Joanna plays her own arrangements of music that had some connection to, or was liked by Russian-born American novelist and philosopher AYN RAND (1905 - 1982) widely known for her best selling novels 'The Fountainhead' and 'Atlas Shrugged'. The album is in the form of a musical odyssey. The cover for this CD, created by Joanna, features details of the 'Renaissance skyline' in Detroit, Michigan (USA) and a St. Petersburg (RUSSIA) architectural 'Atlas' type figure.

Quotes from Ayn Rand:

"I never found beauty in longing for the impossible and never found the possible to be beyond my reach."

"My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity and reason as his only absolute."
