brother and sister maurice and camille getting together to write songs

Maurice Inkster Bio
Maurice wrote poems from when he was a young boy; they were his only way of expressing his
feelings and emotions. Maurice always kept his writing to himself, afraid that people would laugh or
make fun of him. On Father’s day when Maurice was 14, he had written a poem about what his Dad
meant to him and how important he was in his life and to his family. Maurice’s older brother found
the poem and read it out loud at a gathering of family and friends. Maurice was so embarrassed and
hid, vowing that he would make sure that never again would someone be able to get hold of his
poems.
Over the years Maurice continued to write poems about the ups and downs of life and succeeded to
keep his work to himself through the decades that passed. When Maurice’s father passed away, the
family went to help his Mother to sort through his Dads personal effects. Maurice opened his Dads
wallet and inside was a tattered and worn folded piece of paper. Maurice gently unfolded the fragile
paper and to his astonishment it was the poem he had written on Father’s day almost thirty years
before. Maurice was amazed; his Father who was his biggest hero and his greatest critic must have
been touched by the poem as he had kept it with him all of these years.
This changed the way Maurice viewed his writing and when Maurice’s sister passed away, Maurice
developed a bucket list and number one on the list was to make sure he shared the poems he wrote
with those he wrote them for and to make the poem he had written for his Mum into a song.
Maurice and his surviving sister Camille together created ‘Mum’s song’, with Maurice’s lyrics and
Camille’s music. Maurice and Camille have gone on to make many more songs together,Maurice continues to write poems and has created an almost unending
supply of lyrics that can be transformed into songs.
