Hailing from Youngstown, Ohio, Asleep is a melting pot of musical influences best described as earsplitting noise pop.

Asleep's sound ranges from the experimental yet pop styling of Radiohead, The Cure, and Silverchair, the layered guitar cacophony of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, the art punk attitude of Liars and Glassjaw, progressive hints of The Mars Volta, and the psychedelic tendency of legends Pink Floyd.
