| About Young Mint | Young Mint Biography Young Mint, who is that? Many will ask, and soon all will know. Eric Leeks was born January 24, 1992, in Tampa, Florida. Mint was a natural born entertainer. Beyond the triple threat label, YM is multi-talented. Actor, singer, dancer, manager and rapper are all a part of his repertoire. Since his preteens YM was destined to be a part of the entertainment industry. Participating in numerous theatrical and musical activities has given him the ability to learn and practice his crafts. Being a Radio Disney Kidcaster, WEDU spokesperson, and The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Ambassador has provided him with opportunities. He has attended the Source Awards, Bet Awards, and NBA All-star games. Mint has conversed with numerous rap moguls and R & B veterans including Sean "Diddy" Combs, Sean "Jay-Z" Carter, Rick James and Patti Labelle. In 2007 he and some of his peers and family members’ co founded, Young Adrenaline. In 2009 he decided to pursue a solo career. Although the group is still intact, Mint is still a member of the Young Adrenaline Family but he also manages their solo artist. Working solo seemed to be best for the progression of Mint's career. With three mix tapes dancing through central Florida, he has a growing fan base. With requests from his fans, his music can also be heard on Tampa radio stations and in some of the Bay area clubs. Fans just cannot seem to get enough of his music. Recently Mint was "On Demand" on Tampa, Florida's urban radio station 95.7 The Beat. Although he is a stellar student at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (Tallahassee, FL), making time to perfect his musical craft is extremely important to him. Currently he is working on his fourth mix tape, 10th PLANET; the album will be released December 10, 2011. Upon completion of a press kit, Mint prays to catch the attention of a major record label sooner than later. He and circle of Cogent Crooks work hard to make him relevant in the music industry. Young Mint is a firm believer that his work speaks for itself. His music is unlike anything you have ever heard. His sultry, soulful voice sets his music apart from other musicians and his rap lyrics will leave you salivating for more. |
