About Yancey

As the music industry continues to gradually transform, the future climate of many genres such as R&B/Pop have become increasing hard to predict. The difficulty of finding that “next big thing” to capture the essence of the growing innovation of R&B/Pop has led to many not seeing where the genre could go. What if that “next big thing” was right here, in your face within the range of you hearing? Allow me to INTRODUCE to you “that next big thing”: YANCEY….… the future of R&B.

Born Yancey Taylor Jr. into an already musically cultivating environment, his parents instilled all the necessary characteristics early in YANCEY’S life to nurture his creative potential while living in Long Island. Since childhood YANCEY not only excelled in singing, but as a dancer mastering modern, jazz, and tap. Besides his family’s musical background, YANCEY also found outside musical influences from the likes of the immaculate Michael Jackson, Howard Hewett, David Ruffin, and Usher. Talents such as these would soon help feed YANCEY’S professional desires to become a singer.

Not new to the limelight, YANCEY has made appearances in commercials, television programs, secured starring roles off-Broadway, and became a regular performer during halftime shows at many NBA games in Madison Square Garden. YANCEY received his first major opportunity when, as the lead singer of the young R & B group Triple got signed to MCA. But when the label folded in 2001, the group disbanded, leaving Yancey in particular to rebound from this unfortunate event and pursue a second shot at success this time as a solo recording artist.

Ever since then, YANCEY has embarked on a non-stop mission to become a successful R&B artist. As a result of YANCEY’S determination, he would eventually make several noteworthy situations. One of which was winning an award for Most Promising R&B Artist in 2004 at the Underground Music Award. In 2005, YANCEY signed to Poplife Music, a bourgeoning production company who were blown away by one of his performances. Presently with his new team at Empire Records, YANCEY has continued to sharpen his skills as a singer and performer.

The future is looking brighter than ever for YANCEY. With the access to various resources and people, as well the support from his family, YANCEY has recently developed a exception flair for songwriting and music production. SINGER, SONGWRITER, PRODUCER, and ENTERTAINER; all of these attributes are currently evident in his music and his performance. Its only obvious YANCEY has what it takes be “that next big thing” in R&B. So allow me to RE-INTRODUCE to you once again “that next big thing”… the future of R&B … YANCEY
