| About Sustainable Music | David Rich, the 7th generation grandson of Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, was lyrical and musical from birth. After a classical musical education (Phi Mu Alpha scholarship winner), he started by playing sax with several recognizable saxophonists in and around St. Louis in the 60's. In the later part of that decade he turned his attention to arranging and composing. Having a diverse set of musical influences like Singleton Palmer, Barney Biggard, Les Scott, Fred Berenaui, and dozens more, all of whom he wrote and arranged things for, giving him a wide range of genre and styles to polish his musical expressions. After moving to Nashville he met the creme of the crop in CW and Jazz. He became a ghost writer for lyrics and music for many names you would recognize. Preferring "green" over fame, he still devotes much time to writing for others, both as a ghost writer and as a commissioned writer. Now by 2012 he has arranged over 12,000 pieces and written over 700 acknowledged works. The album series, Bits and Pieces of David (4) feature 100 diverse pieces in all genre for you. (some have been edited for brevity) Well, this profile could go on for pages, but, you get the picture. He is now the CEO of Sustainable Music, and has written many recent pieces for the famous pianist, Lana Kim, also on Sustainable Music. |
