Career/Business Achievements: US Army (1972 – 1997), Retired as Sergeant Major (E9). Served over 25 years in the U. S. Army as the senior enlisted advisor to Fort Belvoir Adjutant General and Installation Commander;
Founder and president of Smith Gospel Music, Inc. (1998) and SGM Records (1999); producing local gospel artists and a myriad of independent albums;

Nominated and received award for Employee of the Quarter for Department of Homeland Security Office of Security Administrative Security Division for July 2005 and January 2006 from the Chief Security Officer;
Served as Senior Industrial Security Manager, Senior Staff at Lockheed Martin Systems Management for Department of Homeland Security Office of the Chief Security Officer, Administrative Security Division, Industrial Security Program Branch;
Currently serves as Acting Chief for Homeland Security Industrial Security Program Branch

Saved August 29, 1981; Ordained as Deacon Church of Deliverance 1983; Minister of the Gospel Received the Call in 1995 Lawton, Oklahoma; Ordination by Full Gospel Evangelistic Church (Apostolic) 1992; Assistant Pastor Church of God In Christ, Memorial Chapel, Yongsan Seoul, Korea (1992 – 1993); Associate Minister and Minister of Music, Fort Belvoir Chapel (1994 – 2003); and currently serving as Minister of Music, Dale City Christian Church, Dale City, Virginia.
