About Tom's Dream

Born a "coal miner's great granddaughter", Carol Hoernlein grew up on country music - in Northern NJ along the Palisades. With a father who played accordion and two uncles who played guitar, family gatherings always meant music and inspired in Carol a love of music from an early age. Carol began singing and recording in 1989 and was one of the original members of Peter Karp and the Road Show band and has appeared as a guest vocalist with Thaddeus McGregor and various other artists in the New York area. She is also known for narrating the documentary "A New Deal for the Palisades" about the creation of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission. Carol joined Tom's Dream in October 2011 after discovering yet another gifted family member with songwriting talent - Tom Thiel. Carol still lives in North Jersey and enjoys sailing the Hudson, hiking, gardening and of course - singing.
