| About Cinnamon Leaf Records | ALVIN THOMAS Born Alvin Thomas, A.K.A “Viggerous” has been singing for the freedom fighters for over a decade. He grew up in the cool hillside of Middlesex at the base of the Dolphin Head Mountain in Hanover. He gained his formal education at Rusea’s High School. Viggerous discovered, as a young man, his natural attraction to singing, a talent he believes he inherited from his father who has a member of the local church choir. Later he would perform on various sound systems in the area, earning him the moniker “Satta Ranks”. Overtime he would fall in love with the music Bob Marley from whom he gets his inspiration. From there he moved on to Canada where he worked for several years in the agriculture sector. It was here that he was encouraged to perfect his craft and go into music full time after singing at his then employer’s wedding. This he did writing and performing his own songs. His break came in 2002 when he met established Musician Albert Fernandez, Band leader of the “Street Fighter Band”, where he worked as lead singer for two years. It was here that the singer started recording, building a repertoire of thought provoking, witty and uplifting lyrical content. He would later be faced with disappointment when a deal with an overseas based label left him in the cold. By then he was performing under the alias, M.A.S.A.D.A, a name given to him by his musical director and backup vocalist A. Fernandez. Undaunted by this misfortune, the artist was determined to make it. He moved on to record a slew of songs under his new moniker, “Viggerous”. Now ready than ever before with renewed interest and fresh melodies, Viggerous is poised to deliver a fresh brew of Roots Rock Reggae. |
