Michael Willow is a songwriter from Greece. He lives in Dublin Ireland. He is currently a music teacher and writes his own songs together with Sophie Zissi. He performed with Eimear Quinn,the winner of Eurovision Ireland 1996, in the music festival ART IN ACTION (Drogheda) .From May 2004 until November 2006 he broad casted the radio show Sound and Vision on CITY INTERNATIONAL 106,1 FM, Thessaloniki, Greece, sponsored by the electronic music-promotion company www.music-city.gr. Special guest in his shows in City International was the British singer/sonwriter NIKKI SUDDEN (who had collaborated among others with R.E.M and the ROLLING STONES) on the 15 and 22-11-2004. More interviews followed with the local groups “I Knew Them” and Stefan Schwerdtfeger's “BIG SLEEP” (May 2005), while Sudden returned for the third time in November 2005 with Baron Anastis Ban Hustler. 2)With the Greek rock band ‘BEMOL’: One of his songs included in their album "GIATI DEN ISE SIOPI" (WHY YOU ARE NOT SILENCE) 25 May 2007 (lyrics: Vasilis Barlakas) 3)With the second best seller famous Greek band “THE OLYMPIANS LIVE” (known also as “THE OLYMPIANS”) doing demo songs. He also helped them in some demoworks using his own studio equiqment. There are a few songs of him in Greek language sung by the main singer of group VASILIS PAPAVASILEIOU. 4) Since the summer of 2005 he collaborate as a composer and singer with the publishing house «IDROGIOS» and the Non-Governmental Cultural Organization «ARGONAUTES», setting poems to music and performing them at the Poetry Festivals organised by «Argonautes» and the «MUSIC COMPANY OF NORTHERN GREECE». In view of the 2nd Poetry Festival Of Thessaloniki that took place on the 4 of November 2006 a cd album has been released (3.000 pieces) with the title “OLIVE” in which he and two other composers set to music some of the poems of the participants. He set to music poems of the American song writer LEE PINKERSON and other Greek poets (the daughter of the famous Greek poet GIANNIS KOUTSOHERAS, Leta Koutsohera). For more information about ”Argonautes” visit www.argonautes.gr. 5)With Italian poets, setting their poems to music 6)Live performances in Thessaloniki, Dublin, co Meath (Ireland) and in the 1st poetry festival of Thessaloniki (15 of October 2005), in the Poetry Festival May of Love (24 of May 2006),in the 2ND POETRY FESTIVAL OF THESSALONIKI (3 November 2006) that was dedicated to the Worldwide famous Greek poet and Translator Takis Varvitsiotes. He also undertook the presentation of the festival His music education starts at the age of 10 in Alexandrio and Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki. He was student of John Jeff Touch. He is also Member of the greek company of copyright (AEPI) since 2007
