That is its sole purpose, if you like any of it, great, if not... no worries. I try not to get bogged down by specific styles of music and its not unusual for me to write and combine all sorts of styles of music and ways of both recording and writing. So while some albums maybe classical / orchestral, others may be electronic or more of a 'lucky dip' of musical styles. The bottom line is I write songs solely for myself, if anyone else likes them then thats a plus. I started writing and playing music for age 8 and started out regionally as a guitar player before moving into all sorts of other musical areas. I spent 4 years or so deep in musical theory that still comes in useful to this day, but not at the expense of the emotion within the music itself. |
