P Twain Recording Artiste
Music is changing, and the earlier an artiste recognises this it will be better for that artiste” — so says fusion artiste P-Twain (Prince Twain).
P-Twain is hoping to make an impact in the music world with the recent release of his new single “When We Ride”. He believes artistes should always explore, experiment and move forward with music — his aim is to take his reggae R&B and pop/dancehall fusion to the world. P-Twain is confident about his signature style; he says his vision for his career is to break barriers where music is concerned.
The Jamaica-born fusion artiste whose real name is Twain Dimmitt sees himself as a visionary. “I am a fusion between reggae and R&B music. The market is changing and I consider my music as versatile. “When We Ride” is more of a DJ style, the producer, Joel Quamina shared my vision in terms of the kind of music I wanted to produce. We have put out good work. The video is exceptional and I am confident of my success,” says P-Twain. “When We Ride” is doing well in other Caribbean islands, Denmark, Japan, as well as across the United States, with a fan base that is rapidly increasing.
P-Twain believes this is just the beginning of future success. The independent artiste knows that gaining success would be challenging but he intends to push beyond the boundaries.
“The vision was to create a fusion with an international type of beat. My sound and style is signature. As a recording artiste and visionary my goal is to make ‘feel good’ music for my fans to enjoy. Hit after hit and to top charts both locally and internationally. My aim is also to represent the Caribbean with my music on an international level, showing the corporate music industry of first world nations that we can produce international quality music,” P-Twain says.
P-Twain says his campaign to get his single to international markets is gaining momentum.
“My recent project has been the release of my new single entitled “When we ride” which is a feel-good song which can rotate in the clubs and the radio stations both locally and internationally. I am currently working with a new team in Trinidad and Tobago that is providing invaluable support. We have recently released the video for this song.
When it comes to his music his influences span a wide spectrum of artistes, from Shaggy to the legendary Bob Marley. “I listen and enjoy all types of music but my main influences/role models come from reggae and R&B artistes Sean Paul, Shaggy, the legend Bob Marley, R&B Singer John Legend and Smokey Robinson.
Born in St Catherine, Jamaica, P-Twain’s music was important to him from young age. He walked around with his radio to listen to music. Eventually he began to sing at social gatherings. He also began to focus on an IT career, as a technician. This however, didn’t sway him from his original love for music. In 2007 he made a decision to refocus on his musical career as a songwriter and singer. Twain had released two mix tapes in Jamaica prior to the release of “When Ride We” which was released in Trinidad. His music is available for purchase by logging onto the following websites:
