| About King Kan | “Auto∙ma∙tic Piff”— is an instant classic, which in all of its essence is King Kan. Self-proclaimed “king of his peers”, he is a catalyst in hip-hop, promising to lead one of the nation’s hidden music scenes out of exclusion. His stimulating style reveals his formula for changing the status quo at a consistent and effective pace. Being a hip-hop connoisseur, King Kan encompasses the people, lifestyle, and most importantly the music. Born in Lagos, Nigeria of an American mother and Nigerian father, King Kan has been destined for prominence since day one. After befriending Legato Pryce and reAce, his raison d'être started to become more apparent. He responded to the allure of the music industry's calling in his early 20's and thus has embarked on a self-motivated rise to significance within the realms of his peers through a refined process of personality and pride, coupled with a distinctive and intricate array of lyrical syntax, style, and his signature “serene swagger”. Unlike many market-driven rappers, Kan's subject matter is unique and varied. While ideally, Kan is a flashy, party-starting playboy, he is also heavily influenced by his past experiences. In 2003, a near-fatal motorcycle crash broke his leg and ribs and he was hospitalized for months. Hitting the block again, he was viciously stabbed in 2004, again putting him in the hospital and leaving him with a deep scar. He also had a few brief stints with the law but he did not let this tarnish his career. Backed by THE ALMIGHTY A-SQUAD, King Kan is taking an extraordinary approach to music, and laying to rest the cries of inadequate diversity and originality in modern day Hip-Hop.
