The Games of Scholars is a concept album written by Jesse Lang. It is a progressive rock album that pulls influence from Pink Floyd, Ayreon and Shadow Gallery. The album features theater vocalists Michael Kaup, Brandon Ghislain and Arwen Fonzen. The music courses through war, addressing the past, present and future of two opposing sides. Individually the songs cover particular aspects of war, such as the military, battles, death and outcome, but together they create a timeline of events. Although inspired by Ayreon's rock operas, The Games of Scholars is not a story, but rather a combining of thoughts and ideas on one subject.
