About Wired

WIRED............................................
The distinctive, powerful, energetic, quirky, emotive voice of Singer/Songwriter Wired, first emerged from her cocoon in the 1990's.When she embarked on a Performing Arts course in London.Bright eyed and bushy tailed.(Her tail has been slightly cut..Aaaaah!)It was the making of her.Along the way she met afew stars in the making. Here she embraced the hue of the performers.(One of them being Natalie Appleton from All Saints.)Wired lived for creativty and she fell deeper in love with music, dance and performing. It was at college,in sunny North London, that she finally decided that there was no going back-She was a fully fledged member of the gentry music society. However, not playing any instruments, she learn't to appreciate and develop her singing and writing skills to the fullest.Once the course was finished(One year. She wrestled to find singing jobs, to no avail. Then she decided to take on a Access to drama course.Coincidently,in the same college-she evidetly loved it there!)Now,here's where things became juicey for her.The one year course was to be the catalyst of her music career. It was here that she met a gorgeous scottish lady called Theresa who introduced her to four Pop/Dance/RnB producers(Solariss).Who had worked with the likes of "Eternal","Fine Young Cannibals" etc,and who's manager(Moksha Recordings)was also managing "The Shamen".Whilst, and after the access to drama course, she would regularly go to M.C.A Studios in Hammersmith and Camden to do backing vocals/sessions for, and with other artists along the way.Eventually, she got her break and started working on songs(vocals) with the sunnny producers.(Nick Whitecross,Jon Hall and George Stewart.Band members of "Kissing The Pink" fame),and her own.She loved every minute of it and gained alot working with these guys. She decided there and then that performing was all she wanted to do.Under the name of Miss Ogiste/Ayoka.(She couldn't decide what name to stick to!)She played at Hackney Empire,Women's Day,being one of her many, many gigs. She also had her hand in acting.Although she would gladly admit, acting was in no way her forte. To wooden!. In her words. Her Wired Doll could do better! However, She enjoyed and learn't alot, working with Graeae Youth Theatre,Camden Peoples Theatre,Shape etc.One track "Gimme The Power" was given airplay on Pete Tong's show, this was released on white label and played in clubs around the country under the Solariss label. It was a hit! It took a while, but she was offered a recording/management deal by Moksha recordings. And after considerable consideration,
declined the offer.(So,she's nearly touched the all illusive deal!)This didn't stop the tenacity and determination that Wired has become known for.She remained focused and continued performing. In the early 21st century! She then met her notoriously brilliant and talented producer-who she is still with-Mr Rick/Turner/Brown.He auditioned her and signed her to a production/management deal straight away, after hearing her dulcite tones. In his own words."I was seriously impressed with her talent."He had to have her on his team."Quintessential" was the name of the company run by co-founders,Rick and Quincey De Bailey(manager). It was to be one of the biggest influences of her career.A refreshing, innovative change for herself. For it was here that Wired was concieved and born. She met fellow artist, Wayne Boucaud(A.K.A Buckle),whom Rick was producing his album also. And she collaborated on his album.Providing backing vocals and her lyrical skills.Along with Kerry Clarke and Cassandra Henry, whom she also worked/performed with.It was a glorious period.During that peroid Wired decided to put a band together, under the same name.An all girl band, and here that she met Ms Serena Lambre, lead guitarist. After a time, the band dispersed. But Wired and Serena created their own beautiful, piano based music.
The relationship with Rick was a special one.Fateful, organic, trusting, that bore the album-Use Words".Part of the energetic sound was achieved by the amazing guitarist heard on the album.Mr Dave "Animal" Roberts.Fucking brilliant guitarist.(where are you now tiger?)All 15 tracks were written by Wired, each song telling a story. And hopefully taking people on a journey.Use Words took her on a personal, and at times profound journey.Leading to musical freedom and self exploration, which she had not fully experienced or comprehended in the past.
In 2006 she entered a competition,"Ukunsigned".Where She sailed through to the Singer/Songwriter Pop category finals, gaining exposure through the local press and BBC three counties radio station.
Wired is continuing the process of exploration.Dealing with social issues, relationships and everyday living. At present,Rick and herself are developing new material for the forth coming 2nd album.Exciting times. As use words,it will hopefully evoke, inspire and be a refreshing force in music.
