About Tim McMorris

Music has always consumed the majority of my time since I can remember. Trying to make a career out of it has been simultaneously the most exciting and frustrating thing I have ever pursued. Music caught my attention for all the obvious reasons; however it was the band's or artist's power of expression that really captivated me. I found that I could better express my thoughts and feeling more through music than any other medium, and I believe a lot of other musicians feel this way as well.

I've had too many influences to mention here, but I will say that my style has changed drastically over the years. At some point I stopped trying to be my influences however and became my own artist. I think that's where a lot of artists miss it; they try to be and sound like their influences so much that they end up losing their creativity and individuality. We don't need another Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix or Tupac...The world has already had them. People need to realize how important individuality is. One of my favourite quotes is "You laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at you because your all the same."

I like and write so many different type of music that one of my major challenges has been coming up with a collection of songs that can all go on the same CD. When your putting out an album there is a fine line you have to walk between diversity and collectiveness. So that's what I'm finishing right now. My debut album "Now I feel alive" will showcase my diversity, but at the same time, I'm not going to show you everything I can do at once. I have to have more than one album right?

Music influence people like you wouldn't believe. Everyone has a world view, and of course I have mine whether you agree with it or not. I'm a God fearing man, and don't try to hide it. I write secular music and Christian music as well, and eventually would like to release a gospel too.

Like many others, I have a voice that I want heard. I have a message that I want contemplated. I have a story to tell, and at the same time, I want to entertain. Yes, I want to make money from my music, but not just because I want to make money, but because I want to spend my life doing what I love. Don't you? I've spent enough time in the factories of Windsor, and now I'm giving everything I got.
