| About Raw B | Robert Sletner, better known as Raw B, is the orchestrator and musical genius behind Fly By Night Productions. In his earliest musical endeavors as a child, Raw used a tape recorder to capture his first melodious creations. Being a product of his rearing on the road, he became a product of the musical environment his parents established. He credits the music education from his father as the principal underpinning for his successful career in music. Raw B’s family have always been and will continue to be the root source of inspiring motivation for choosing a life in music production. Through a lifetime of musical exposure, Raw B discovers influence and muse for his art all around him. Drawing from his lived experiences adds a character and validity to his unique music. His children, relationships, family, and friends play a distinctive role in shaping his art. He acknowledges a range of artists from Jethro Tull to Timbaland for influencing and informing his musical palate. As the hits keep coming, it’s all too obvious that Raw B has mastered the art of mixing musical concoctions. Raw B’s first full length album was recorded and released in 1998. “Young Man from the Can” was Raw’s first album and was a genuine reflection of his ingenuity at it’s finest. Having evolved and developed in his profession, Raw credits Jason Rush for being one of the guys that supported his art from the beginning. Rush graciously purchased updated recording equipment that Raw desperately needed to advance in his career. This was a pivotal and vital point in Raw’s profession that he gratefully recalls. In 2004, Raw B signed with a label out of Portland, OR and left his hometown of Spokane Washington. He spent a year there gaining little ground or support from this record label and an eventual bitter separation from them ensued and Raw returned home in hopes of continuing his musical career. In doing so, Raw continued developing his own production company, “Fly by Night Productions”. With a successful fourteen year history, “Fly by Night Productions” has evolved into a well oiled production business offering a variety of entertainment services. Over the course of the last fifteen years, Raw B has effectively written and recorded fourteen full length albums independently. Having self distributed and sold more than 100,000 copies of his solo works, Raw has proven his relentless determination in music. Raw B is currently working on his soon to be 15th full length solo album release and his presence and performance is frequently requested at various local venues as well. Balancing his enthusiasm for music with his passion for parenthood, Raw remains highly successful in both theaters. As Raw B maintains his rawly REAL attitude, he persists in his art. Dropping nothin' but the hotness, Raw B lives up to his reputation as the Cunning Linguist. He continues to explore fresh ideas which are conducive to expressing himself through music. With refined skill and vocabulary, Raw B is definitely one to keep your eyes and ears on. |
