About The Worries

Formed in 1989 The Worries began to ply their trade in Brockley, Lewisham. They quickly developed into a top live Reggae act doing shows for Choice FM, Greenwich Bubble Theatre and various charities including the Jamaican Lignum Vitae Club, Amandla and Matagalpa Con Amore.

Over the years The Worries have backed various artists including Maxi Priest, Vivian Jones, Roy Richards, Michigan & Smiley and Susan Cadogan.

The Worries have just released their lastest single.. Nah Back Me Fist.

"This omnidirectional collective mostly dabbles in dancehall, melding relaxing vocals with equally soothing horn charts for grab-a-drink-and-lie-back reggae material. The lilting (and may I add..award winning) “Anticipating” finds each of these elements at their best. What roped me into listening to them, however, was the thoroughly different (and unexpected) “Worries Christmas Carol,” which has little to do with Christmas or reggae. It’s a bit of sampled rhythmic madness that favors a deliciously cheesy Wurlitzer organ over jingling bells; the overall effect is closer to 1971 loose-booty funk than Jamaican dancehall, and the fact that it all came out of a Scottish/English congregation makes it all the more intriguing." - Joseph McCombs (Emusic Review)

The Worries have just released the single 'Nightmare on Elm Street' from their new Album 'Strictly Worries'
