About Chris Cuevas

Born and raised in Long Beach, Mississippi Chris Cuevas began his musical ambitions at the tender age of four. He learned to play the guitar at age six and piano at ten. Beginning his professional career by opening up for such artists as Reba Mcentire, BJ Thomas, Dave Edmonds, Lacy J Dalton, Alabama, and the great Bob Hope to name a few. At the tender age of 14 he was a contestant on the National Show, “Star Search”, where he won first place in his age group. He then went on to aspire and strive for bigger and better things in the entertainment industry. Therefore, after hearing about an article in a national teen magazine promoting Debbie Gibson and her interest in working with up and coming talent, Chris took the advise of his Father and listened on a priceless opportunity and a contact was made and a relationship was started with Atlantic Records and Gibson Management. Chris’ Somehow Someway cd had a stunning debut in early 1991 and generated two top 40 singles in the U.S. and three in Asia. Chris then went on to Tennessee to write with Kent Blazey, Bruce Bouton, and several other Nashville writers to name a few. Even though Chris had achieved much in the music industry, he was still in search of his true country roots. Chris decided to perfect and mold his unique style of country and pop alternative music instead of recording another boy band pop cd. After years of soul searching he finally achieved perfection with his new cd, RUSH is nothing short of country mixed with his alternative ways of music. In his mind and his creativity of music he is where his heart has always been.
