| About Lil Rod | Roderick "Lil Rod" Roberts started his journey to music in 2008 but been rapping since 1998. Lil Rod(24) was determine to put Dallas, Texas on the map with his lyrical ability “I'm going make something happen,” quoted Lil Rod. Rapping is not just fun to him it's his life meaning as his life it's his day to day pan to be successful with his music. Lil Rod made up in his mind that he was going to speak thru his music promoting, performing shows, and going from club to club building a bond with the hottest DJs in town. Soon then he started hitting the streets with his underground CDs, doing countless shows around the City of Dallas. After a while Lil Rod earned a reputation for putting on exciting shows. One of the highlights of that show was his performance of the underground song, “Do It Wit No Hands” it caused sheer pandemonium. Whenever the beat dropped and the crew started chanting the hook, the clubs would go crazy. Before Lil Rod went solo he was apart of a group called H2O (Hard Hittaz 2 Obvious). As time went on things started getting more serious the group went thru some changes, and it narrowed down to one committed member that was serious about doing what he love. After it was all said and done, Lil Rod knew it was time to go hard in pursuit of his career in music. His first local hit was the bouncy “Get Loose” last year. Rod let his hometown know he was here to stay on K-104’s Hometown Showdown show. Listeners called in for weeks to vote. Lil Rod was still actively looking for something that would get him into the spotlight with all the other local artist in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area hooking up with producer, Young Starr that song was born. His first official buzz, though, was when Rod recorded “Do It Wit No Hands”. Rod never expected his single, "Do It Wit No Hands" to get as much attention as it did. The grind didn't stop there he got a call from LaVonte “Taye” Dove CEO of Affiliation of Entertainment saying, "he was looking for new talent for his label and he wanted to add me to his roster" and everything from there was history. His performance schedule is starting to fill up very quickly. "I'm just staying humble and going with the flow." says Lil Rod. Now, after signing to Texas based power label Affiliation of Entertainment, Lil Rod is working on his mixtape series "Flooding Ya Block" & ablum "Small Thang 2 A Giant" Lil Rod is preparing to be what's next in the music industry. |
