About MAJOR STACKZ E.N.T | Anyone, on any given night, in any given Memphis Club has witnessed their presence. It's unmistakable, the black tee with the big white letters that read MAJOR STACKZ ENT. This 8-man team is a record label bred on the streets of South Memphis with one goal, making millions off the rap game. CEO Fruit Loop Dave, artists OG Boo Dirty and Rubberband Star and Hypeman Greasy sat down with me to discuss where they came from and where they plan to go. The fact that South Memphis, Tennessee bore this group of young entrepreneurs is a unanimous one. They represent Walker Homes, The 8 Block, DHG, and Nehemiah. Along with OG and Star, their roster includes rappers Truth Tha God, B-Raw The Hood Law, Mac Geni, Yo Da Don - The South Memphis Mayor and promotions man Tony Montana. They describe the music they make as "Life of the Party". According to Dave "We make hood music, trap music, we make money fly in the club...we don't do no dancin at all though, none". The self-proclaimed "Kings of South Memphis" pride themselves on being true to the streets and making their own way. They can be seen on YouTube handling stacks of cash while socializing on the streets of South Memphis. According to Dave they have their own money so they are their own investors and have done everything any other label can do. "We want out of the streets, but we gotta stay in the streets to make this happen. We wanna be known for something bigger and better, not for robbing and killing...We want to be able to go to Jeezy and get a verse for free, not like a fan, but on his same level". |
