About Circle

Circle is a variable group of friends on the staff of Woodstock School, Mussoorie, India, who make music together. So far there have been two projects: Nobody's Fault But Ours (2007), which was a Celtic/folk/blues/Indian/bluegrass album (honest) featuring Louise Bamber on fiddle, Indian music expert Sanjeeb Sircar on sitar and Pete Wildman, vocals and guitars.

In 2009 Pete and Louise, both English, were joined by American Amy Seefeldt, vocals, flute and whistle, for a second album. "A Million Seeds" is English folk music sung with an American country sensibility, with dashes of blues, gospel and 60s prog folk to help the mix along. All the songs reflect the Christian faith of the various band members. Pete has written about half of the material, the rest is culled from various sources - Washington Philips, the Byrds, Josh White, Alison Krauss, the Incredible String Band.

Woodstock School has a long tradition of western and Indian music, and many talented staff and students, and it's fun to collaborate on this kind of project. And it helps to pass the long monsoon evenings..
