About Livia

Music means a lot to me in many ways, not just composing but to also listen to others perform, what thoughts are going through their minds while doing it. I started playing at an early age and grew when I moved to France where I lived for 12 years of my life. I was envolved with orchestras.choirs and bands which grew my liking to music and also got the experience to meet and play with others and to also come accross different playing styles which I enjoyed. The piano is my first instrument and I managed to reach grade 5. I remember doing my first performance when I was about 6/7 and what an experience it was. My parents brought me an Alto Sax for my Birthday as a gift and were not expecting me to go any further with it, within a few months I was starting lessons which took me to grades and other orchestral performances. When I moved back to the UK I didn't perform as much as I thought I would. I came accross the Cellar Bar where they show live gigs nearly every night. It's also a place I go to quite often just to sit back and relax and talk music for the whole evening which I can't else where. I started playing with a band as a guest and really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was all new to me as in the past I would up on stage having practised for about 2/3 hrs and end up with a handful of sheet music in front of me. All it was here was a small stage, a lively audience, you improvising on the spot and lots of P.A's in front of you. I am currently looking for musicians to start a project. As you know from above I can read and write music to a graded standard. Looking for people who can read music but not essential as I can also play by ear. I have had many experiences performing on stage and paid gigs and would like to benifit from doing that in the past and move to another level. I have a series of MP3 files which I am hoping to make a portfolio with. I am currently doing a degree in music composition and supporting television programmes with my music.
