About R3DTAPE

Red Tape: The meaning of the word describes the artist. The official definition is a routine or procedure marked by excessive complexity which results in delay or inaction. R3d Tape has been delayed and denied but never defeated.

Born and raised in Harlem, Chris Gaston has endured, and avoided many of the obstacles and pitfalls that have destroyed the lives of so many of his peers.
As an outlet, he turned to hip hop music but was met with more adversity and negativity from family and friends who did not believe nor embrace his passion.
Chris was undeterred in his drive and dream and used the rejection as inspiration to create R3d Tape.
R3dtape produced two albums in 2009, on his independent label, In The LAB Records.
He is a CEO, a producer, an artist, and an entrepreneur. Having already produced songs for many up and coming artists in New York City, he has also executive produced two albums for other artists on his label.
These songs were performed at various open mic venues, including Training Camp at the Pyramid.
R3d Tape captures the violence, the struggle, the joy, the frustrations, and the current state of the “have-nots” of the world, in his music.
He has a unique, fresh, sound that captivates and consumes the listeners emotions. His beats speak without words, and his word play rivals that of hip hops most prominent mc’s to date.
“I got a lot of venom in me, kill the men you sent to get me, hit ‘em up like it was meant for Biggie”
R3d Tape is ready for the world, and the world has been waiting for an artist like R3d Tape for years.

In The LAB Records is on its way to becoming iconic in hip hop. Upon completion of the current solo projects, R3d Tape will focus on executive producing the solo and group projects of all the artists on the label.
