| About Grindaz | Coming out of the southwest, Grindaz and their indie-label G-Spot Entertainment are “Rizin’ 2 tha Topp” in Phoenix, Arizona’s hip-hop scene with their ear candy beats and their captivating lyrics. The group consists of three members; BebeGurl tha Lady Stunna, JayGee tha Playboi Hustla, and E-Roc aka Eric G. (E-Roc and JayGee are brothers). JayGee produces for the group at their G-Spot studio, and the listeners and fellow artists have spoken, “quality production” and “this needs to be on the radio”. They have recently finished their first official album titled “Rizin’ 2 tha Topp” which contains some hard hitting hood hits, some R&B flavored jams, and a couple chopped and screwed remixes to finish it off. An album release concert and their first music video are on the horizon. Grindaz is taking all avenues to further their career in the music industry including shopping their album to labels, distributors, radio stations, and promoters while still gaining fans one by one on the streets and online. The inspiration for the name Grindaz came from a street slang term as JayGee explains it, “When you’re out there making money in the hood the way we do, we call it ‘grindin’, so we are ‘Grindaz’”. They brought Grindaz to life in an apartment in Mesa, Arizona. The forging of the three music connoisseurs would prove to be a beautiful unification. JayGee then enrolled in Mesa Community College’s music recording and business program and received his certificate in Music Technology, along the way building up their G-Spot studio. Grindaz took a devastating blow when their studio was burglarized, they lost tens of thousands of dollars in equipment and hundreds of beats and songs. “We could either handle this the hood way or handle it professionally” BebeGurl recalls. So they chose to use that pain of losing all they had worked for as motivation to persevere and make it happen. They scraped up the best mixes of what they had lying around, and “Rizin’ 2 tha Topp” was born. Like the title of one of their songs suggests, Grindaz have been “Hustlin’ in AZ”. They have opened for some of hiphop and latin hiphop’s greatest artists including NB Ridaz, Lighter Shade of Brown, Mr. Capone E and the High Power family, JayTee of N2DEEP and Latino Velvet, La Sinfonia, Spice 1, and more. E Roc did a hook for Junebug Slim (produced by Insane Mixaken) from the bay area of California titled “Candyman”, which included a music video. JayGee has produced for local artists and generated some lucrative clientele with his head-knocking beats. JayGee recalls when Zigzag of The New Ridaz heard one of his tracks and eagerly asked “Who made that beat?”, his production skills had even got DJ Kane to drop a hook on one of his beats, free of charge. So whether they’re in the studio producing thumping beats and writing hits, on the streets promoting their new album, or at a show performing and networking, Grindaz will always be doing what one of their hottest tracks flaunts, getting their “Grind On”, carving their place into music history.
