| About Karah Matlyn | Karah Matlyn is a Christian Contemporary singer/songwriter. Karah was born and raised in Southern Ontario Canada, where she still lives today with her own family. Growing up in a family of singers and musicians, music was always playing in her home. Genre's like Jazz, Contemporary, Pop, and Big Bands instilled a deep love of music, singing and song writing. Karah can't remember a time she wasn't singing. At 3, she was singing and entertaining for family and friends. She sang in all the school choirs throughout her life and in church. In high-school, Karah sang in a vocal music class which performed a "Song Night", and there she was front and center! Karah also performed an original composition called "Christmas Time" at the Bel Canto School of Music Christmas recital. She studied there for 2 years to expand her vocal music. At young age, Karah was quite the poetry writer. Her ability to write creative, heartfelt lyrics and music comes naturally to her. She is inspired by things happening in her own life, the world around her and her journey with Christ. "Come So Far", is Karah Matlyn's debut CD which was released in May 2010. It contains 9 tracks in an original and unique Adult Contemporary Pop Style with powerful, inspirational lyrics that come from the heart and can speak to people everywhere!! Her debut album received a nomination from the 2010 Gospel Music Association, Canada Covenant Awards, for "Inspirational Album Of the Year"! |
