| About Neria Cepaite | Composer and pianist Neria Cepaite is one of Lithuania's great young talents on today's musical scene. With the debut performance of her "Requiem" performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of Lithuania in Vilnius, her presence as a fresh voice in the world of classical composition has been keenly felt. "In my creation I orient towards genres of music of gross extents such as Musical Opera,Oratorio and Film's Music. I am planning to relate musical - creative conception with Musical, Operatic and Film music works. My aim is to look for new Expanse, Inovations in this sphere relating Operatic - all Theatrical sphere's Language, Dramaturgy and a Plot as the totality of realization of Scenic visual and Sonic genre's Expression." Neria Cepaite was born in 1976. She studied choir conducting at the Kaunas Conservatory and composition at the Lithuanian Academy of Music in 1995-1999 (studies Bachelor of Arts), 1999-2001 (Postgraduate studies).She obtained a Master degree. She also concluded Orchestra Conducting with Prof. J.Aleksa. Ms. Cepaite has also studied composition with Prof. L. Andriessen and R. Kelterborn. Her works have been perfomed at the contemporary music festival “ Gaida “.In 1999 her CD “ Mini Opera “ was released to great acclaim Ms. Cepaite maintains a very busy schedule of commissions and her music is being performed around the world in concert halls, with symphonies, soloists and chamber musicians. Upcoming commissions include the Oratorio "Gloria," "The Congress of the Birds," and a Concerto for Viola and Orchestra written for the international concert violist Brett Deubner. |
