| About Paul Pavey | Since 1985, Paul has worked internationally in all musical fields related to dance as a composer, dance-theater performer, teacher and dance class accompanist.. As a composer, Paul has written for many international choreographers and companies and his music for dance has been performed throughout the world. Since 2001, he regularly works with Martin Schlaepfer, Ballet am Rhein and in 2009 he received a PRSF `steps to music` award commissioning a work for Welsh Independent Dance. Paul`s eclectic style and influence range from classical music to free-jazz via traditional folk music and brass band and has written soundtracks for many T.V documentaries and film the most recent being a dance film by Nick Hobbs, ` I am not alone` for ZDF and RTE. As a class accompanist, Paul plays for both Ballet and Contemporary Class and has worked with many schools and companies throughout Europe, including The PLACE, London, Rambert School, Rotterdam Academy, English National Ballet School and Netherlands Dance Theater. He is a regular contemporary class accompanist for the Prix de Lausanne and most recently worked with the Mark Morris Dance Group. He has been company pianist for London Contemporary Dance Theatre and State Modern Dance Group, Ankara, Turkey, where he was also sponsored by the British Council to give workshops for dance teachers and class accompanists. He is currently preparing compositions for two premieres in 2011, for Martin Schlaepfer, Ballet am Rhein, Germany and Nick Hobbs, Luzerner Ballet, Switzerland. |
