While growing up she lived in various cities and was very anti social and never had confidence in what her purpose in life was. She always looked at the future while building the first blocks towards her hopeful future success in life. Monica's first dream was to join in the armed Services and finally escape the life of wondering where she was going to lay her head or for the most part eat but since the opportunity didnt a rise due to personal reasons she realized the only way to make money is to become her own boss. After many times through out her life she was homeless sleeping in friends basements, couch surfing and living in shelters she began to make numerous efforts to hustle without caring about the consequences. Monica Renee began making cd's and selling them while attending music and film school and gathered up enough money to launch 4 My Hood Entertainment and Still Unemployed Studios to pursue her first love: rapping. After 2years of saving school money and working 2 jobs and selling cd's in 2008 the label was launched and the studio was set up and ready to go, Monica was trying to keep the costs down. She ran into a problem of finding in-house producers for creating a beat who were as dedicated as she was. It was becoming a common problem when local producers sold her beats that they had already sold leaving her in a bind of really using the beat to its full potential. So she turned to the web and discovered soundclick.com a place where you can buy and lease tracks for a small fee, through a at the time label mate, Kay Kay. After having the chance to open up for J.Holiday and B5 at the back to school BBQ in 2007, she began to gain confidence and began performing out in local clubs and bars developing her name while pushing videos and tracks on Facebook and youtube. Time after that she began to distribute and promote her music by releasing it to the DJs and clubs. In 2010 she launched "4 My Hood Radio" on an internet web based radio, reaching listeners nationally, where she promoted her music and also those who were trying to come up in the city as well by playing only indie music during her 30 minute air time. And also in 2010 she launched "Class of o' Nine Films where she shot music videos to her tracks. The attention gathered from this reached newfound fans making the road to having Monica Renee a household name. Although the story is far from over, Monica Renee can start looking for the Happy Ending of the struggle just to open a door leading to millions of more...
