About Eureka the Coverboy

Eureka was born Tebogo Motsie in Lobatse, Botswana. He grew up in Francistown to a single mother and later left to Cape Town (South Africa) to attend his university. In Cape Town, as part of the Pan African group Struggle Entertainment, Eureka performed in the Cape Town Festival (2006) and the Rand Easter Show (2007).

• Later in 2007, he moved back to Botswana where he released a 4 track EP, Almost Famous, which featured his first hit single as a solo artist named Looney Tunes. Botswana’s leading newspaper The Voice called it "...one of the greatest local singles you'll ever come across."

• He released his first full length album, Raditaola in 2008. The album won an award for best hip-hop album in the 2009 BOMU Awards (Botswana Musicians Unions Awards which are the only musical awards held in Botswana) and received 1 other nomination for Best Newcomer.

• Eureka had the honour of performing for Botswana’s former President, Festus Mogae alongside a choir ensemble at the 2007 president day celebrations held at the esteemed Maitisong Theatre in Gaborone.

• Yarona FM has partnered with Eureka as a marketing sponsor for his sophomore album Stage Works. Stage Works was released in October 2010. The first 2 singles from the project Machonisa and O Leka Modimo, have already topped both the
Yarona FM top 20 and RB2 top 40 charts.
