9 Mill was born on October 21, 1985 in Portsmouth, VA and raised in VA Beach/ Charlotte, NC. Music has always been a big influence on his life. He remembers like yesterday watching his mom in the kitchen cooking and singing along with her “Oldies” music. “She would always have everybody in the house singing and dancing along with her”, he recalls. Often the time he spent bonding with his older sister they would listen to a variety of artist which increased his passion and appreciation for music. He first started rapping at the early age of 11 battling around the way with friends for fun. The more he did it the more he grew to love it. By the time he was 13, his family had relocated to Charlotte, NC where he met a producer named Chaos. The two of them would put out tapes just freestyling. Chaos introduced him to Q and the three of them started a movement called Star-Studded Ent. After doing a couple shows, putting out a few projects, and creating a little buzz; It was hard to keep everyone on the same page so they decided to split and do separate things. Still keeping in touch with everyone from the Star-Studded movement, Mill started his own movement called O.C.U. During this time he linked up with a rapper by the name of J-Mack and the two of them started working on what started as a collab but turned into more of a solo effort mixtape titled “Almost Famous” (They also worked on a numerous amount of collaborations that were never released). Realizing that it was difficult to put together a team of artist with the same passion and drive as his for music, he started grinding on his own. He would later link up with his cousin “P.A.T.” and the two of them have been working together ever since (You can expect to hear something from both of them in the near future). Raised in an era when music had meaning and rappers weren’t scared to be themselves, Mill plans on bringing that realness back into the music world. He feels that for the first time since he can remember, he finally has the right people around him and it’s no looking back. He is currently working on 2 mixtapes: “Color of Complex” and “Suttin’ Lyke Nothin’ Else”.
