From hit man’s target to hit songs maker, is the path that Chevan Clarke’s career has chosen to bring him to recognition as one of the world’s top vocal performers .After surviving a brutal attack that claimed the life of his best friend and band member Daddy Gravel, Chevan fervently pressed on to continue the mission that they had set out to accomplish. Chevan’s quest for stardom began when he represented his youth club in Spanish Town, as a soccer player, and a singer back in the early 1990’s. His earliest mentors Danny and Terrence, helped him to recognize his ability to thrill audiences with his unique blend of smooth, deep, and husky vocal textures.

Victory was his, when Chevan dominated the national talent competition, to win the prestigious Tastees singing contest in 1992 .Immediately, record producer Dave Sharpe signed Chevan to his Impression records label. The project went well but was short lived. Togetherness records convinced Chevan to sign again, and he began recording his first album. Shortly afterwards Chevan and his friends formed The Bongos, his first band consisting of Daddy Gravel, Bongo, Loxley, Jacko and lead singer Jah Selah, as Chevan was known as back then. The band recorded and promoted three tracks. Think about it, Free, and I need you. Chevan was soon introduced to Omar McNought CEO of U.K. based Vibes Corner production label. Within two weeks Chevan was in London working on his album. After a year of hard work Chevan and his team flew home to Jamaica to shoot a video for his single, “Think about it.” Promotional shows and interviews came next and all was set for the album launch, when once again business relationship broke down and Chevan was forced to seek a more encouraging work atmosphere. An introduction to Sharon Burke brought him some attention which was very motivating. P & L records were next on Chevan’s list of possibilities with him recording the single lonely girl, which received a warm welcome but the project soon went into limbo.

His return to the scene will be introduced by the release of a powerful new track entitled Friends, which expounds on the true meaning and value of friendship. The promotion was be launched in June 2016, with the release of the song, its video, promotional shows, radio and TV interviews, access to his virtual domain of fb, twitter, utube, & his web site plus a product line launch.
